Scared I've made a mistake

Hello all!
I wrote about looking for a job a few months back and asked about jobcentre and got some valuable advice. At that time I just wanted help finding a job and didn't want to claim benefits. Well some time down the line and I still have no job.
So today I went and applied for JSA online. And now I'm worried about whether that was the right thing to do.
Why?
Well I have been reading a load of posts just browsing around and came across a seemingly unrelated post: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5229961

And now I am freaking out about being chucked out of the country.

Quick background about me:
Croatian citizen, married to a Brit for 7 years now. I have a blue "Registration Certificate" issued back in 2013 which states I have no restriction on work in the UK.
I have applied for NINo and went in for interview and received it. I asked the person (this whole thing was done through a job centre) how long I have to work before I can get on NHS or if that was even possible. Just what the rules are in general as I didn't know.
She told me I don't need to work at all to get on NHS, in fact go to a local GP and have them register you ASAP.
I did this and have an NHS number and have been visiting a GP as needed.

But that thread is making me think that I am not entitled to these things? And if I don't find a job within 3 months that my right to stay in the UK will be terminated (and excuse me for being pessimistic about finding a job in that amount of time).

So the question is what do I want with this post?
I am not sure... someone to help me clarify this? To vent? To calm down?
I don't know. Apologies for ranting.

I'm no expert but I think page 57 and 63 of this document confirm that you are not about to be chucked out.

What I can't tell is whether you're entitled to use the NHS, get job seeker etc.

Well I assume if they gave me the NHS number and the doctors are treating me that I am entitled? How else would that work? Be a bit silly if I wasn't entitled but they gave me a number and treated me and all.
As far as jobseekers we will see soon I hope.

It was just that bit that was scaring me about being thrown out.

I am reading the link you provided!

Having an NHS number does not mean you are entitled to use the NHS, Just as having an NI no does not mean you can work.

Plenty obtain an NHS number automatically by receiving any type of emergency care as a visitor, which is free, doesn't mean they are entitled to go on using it not as an emergency.

Many non British overseas residents may need to pay tax in the UK for business and property interests so would need a NI to do so. Doesnt mean they can work or live in the UK.

European citizens have the right to live in the UK for 3 months after which they need qualify to stay by being employed, self sufficient or studying. Otherwise they are not a qualifying person to stay in the UK. Same goes for any British citizen wanting to live anywhere else in Europe.

So how in the world do I know if I am entitled to use NHS? I didn't get the number through an emergency service, I was told what to do by a social worker and then the GP got all my information and signed me up.
Who do I go to in order to figure this out?

I am definitely allowed to work in the UK as I have a paper saying that.
I have been self sufficient so far being here, which is why I was wondering if I just canceled that out by applying in case I don't get a job within the mentioned 3 months.

If you were in a relationship where your partner worked you were self sufficient. Have you never applied for PR?

Sorry missed that, remembered the 7yrs married to a brit!

When you apply for PR you will need to show employment evidence. Its not an issue now but they could turn round and refuse you benefits, make you attend language classes and the likes if they feel you are not able to get a job due to that. But if you are already getting benefits it probably not an issue. It mainly affecting new claimants and new arrivals. So no, you are quite probably not going to get booted at all.

Oh that's quite alright! We lived together in the USA and in Croatia and now in UK, it does get confusing!

I don't think my language is a barrier in getting jobs. It's, to be honest, the fact that my resume is a bit all over the place. I have moved around quite a bit through life and worked in different countries and my resume goes back and forth a lot.
To top it off I don't have any real qualifications (left school at 18 to help out with family business but that's another story) just a high school diploma, and my resume just looks a bit odd to people and they have a hard time connecting it all.
Also I think that it's a lot easier to check up on someone who has worked in the UK only than someone who has worked in say two different countries and is now in 3rd one seeking a job.

And just to clear up, I am not getting benefits at the moment. I have just applied for JSA today and then read that other thread and freaked out. So I might not even be eligible for JSA, the application went through. They even said something about my area being covered by Universal Credit and I might have to apply for that but I answered some questions and the JSA application went through.

You are eligible to apply for JSA/universal credit - see link. But if your partner's earning and you have not made enough recent national insurance contributions you might not get it.

Have you tried a 'job club' in your area (if they exist where you are?) they might be able to help you with your CV and make it seem a bit more connected (or indeed help you with 2-3 different CVs tailored to different job roles)?
