What to do about overdue payment?

Hi guys,
I have an issue I hope you guys can help me with and I hope I have put this in the correct forum.
I rented an online server from a company late last year. I rented it for a month and paid by PayPal to ensure they could only take the 1 payment. I also sent an email to the company to cancel the service.
Today I have recieved an email from incasso Das (I believe is a Dutch collection agency) stating that I owe 2 further payments and a collection fee of an extra 40 euros. Total owed is around 100 Euros.
The money isn't my issue here, I could just pay it and have the issue sorted, but I don't want to. I never received any form of correspondence from the server company - no letters or phone calls even though they have my details. They apparently sent me multiple emails, ehich to be honest probably didn't make it past my spam filter.
What do I do about this as they threaten legal action if it's not paid within 14 and I don't want my credit rating screwed up!
Appreciate any help!

Did you cancel the service in accordance with the agreed terms and conditions of the contract?
If you owe the money and are in the position to pay it then just pay it. By your own admission it is quite possible that you never received any correspondence because of your spam filters.0 -
To be honest I didn't even know it was an agreement for more than 1 month. I was under the impression it was a month to month contract. I did send them an email to cancel just in case. There is no way of checking now as the website has changed massively and when signing up now there is a massive tick box to allow the service to roll over month to month. The whole website has changed as have the terms and conditions since I rented from them.
I really don't want to pay 100 euros for no reason. If there's one thing I hate doing, it is wasting money!0 -

Hi,
A Common threat, rarely carried out, even more unlikely as they are a dutch collection agency, and even more unlikely still for 100 euros!!!
You could just pay up, difficult to tell if they are trying it on or not, they will make a fuss for a while, then it will go quiet most likely.
Important to note, this DCA does not own the debt, they will be acting on behalf of the client, so have no bite whatsoever, you may as well email them and tell them you may take them to court for harassment, it has the same effect.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
