Power washer guidance

Hi,
I'm looking to buy a power washer or equivalent but as always so many models to choose from!
Purpose for buying one would be car cleaning, driveway/patio cleaning mainly.
I'm happy to pay for a good one that will last rather than a cheaper one that will need changing every 6 months. I obviously know the name Karcher but unsure if it's the equivalent of apple products in that everyone knows the name but it's not worth shelling out the extra for.
TIA

Not worth shelling out for.....Karcher are no Apple equivalent......cheap and cheerful, do the job and throw away when they break.....0 -
Had a few of these over the years ....
I had a really cheap (about £20) B&Q own brand one which was great, for about 18 months, then failed.
Then a Karcher - a lot more expensive, but didn't last very much longer before dying.
Best one by far that I've had is my current Bosch Aquatak - very impressed with it and showing now signs of dying on me yet.0 -
I also have a Bosch Aquatak and I am quite happy with its performance.0

I've heard Nilfisk recommended over Karcher. Apparently they use metal components in their motors etc which are longer lasting than Karcher that are plastic. I don't have one so its only heresay.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

I can recommend Nilfisk. I recently used it to clean my paving slab paths, and they came up like new. Good for my car too.
I lent it to a friend one time and he pronounced it to be better than his Karcher. Not sure quite what he meant but presumably power wise, and as he'd had experience of both then Nilfisk is certainly worth considering.0
