I see UKIP as a placeholder for something else to come along.

I thought they would get a reasonable protest vote, but the numbers surprised me.

It wasn't that long ago when we still had 2 party adversarial politics, where the main theme was blaming the other lot and undoing what they had just done when in power.

It sounded stale. It was stale. You can only mug off the voters so often.

Some interesting share movements going on.

Centrica up 7.5% - seems a little knee-jerk but wonder if that's a result of the threat of a price cap being removed. We might actually see gas prices fall now the suppliers know they can put them back up if they need to.

Banks and builders up quite a bit too.

Energy supplier willingly lowers prices...... when did that last happen?:)
Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.

Unfortunatly for Dave, he has to first go and negotiate something for us to vote on.
    Therein lies the challenge...

January 15 for the major suppliers. OVO (excellent btw) tend to review theirs on an ongoing basis.

He didn't suddenly lose his voice. He is recovering from throat surgery of some kind. It was explained at the beginning.

I suspect that we will follow a similar path to the Scottish independence referendum :

    - a lot of noise in the run up, but the vote to remain will win the day.

I don't fear an EU referendum at all.

A year ago I would have been all in favour of leaving the EU. The Scottish independence referendum changed my mind when I saw the uncertainty it created for the whole of the UK.

    Ahh, thanks for that.

I felt for him actually. I just hope he didn't strain his voice.

Let's hope he makes a full recovery.
