You speak as if being a fussy eater is a bad thing.

It just means you're particular about what you put in your mouth/body.

    Nothing wrong with that.

Eating at mcdonalds they cant be to fussy

I didn't mean it that way. I didn't eat meat during my 20s, and I couldn't stomach grubs (or get excited about caviar or oysters).

I was just saying that people of all societies are brought up to be "squeamish" (or arbitrarily judgemental) about certain things. And it's a bit rich to say that someone who doesn't want to eat pork is somehow "being fussy" in a nation where there was an outcry about horsemeat in our food.

I can't help the fact that I'd feel guilty (or disgusted) by eating horse or dog or cat meat. So I can't criticise someone who would feel the same about eating pork.

This is a good point. In some countries they'd eat horse or cat/dog without hesitation. The Tesco horsemeat scandal is a feast for a third world country.

The trick is to be open-minded about other cultures, and that applies to OP in the context of a non muslim country potentially using bacon in a junk food restaurant (I can assure you that the bacon is the least of your worries when eating a McD burger...)

There's a difference between "my religion arbitrarily says no" and "that's a bit yucky."

Pork was bad 1500 years ago due to liver flukes (and poor cooking of pork.)

Shellfish is still a little iffy but realistically you won't die from food poisoning in this day and age.

Basically long story short I am A muslim woman I went through the drive-through at McDonald's and ordered a burger without bacon I confirmed this with the lady I then ate half and it had a bacon in it.
I have rarely eat McDonald's I was just in such a rush after work I thought I would order one.. this is the third time at the same store that this has happened the first two times they have offered me a free meal even though it went through head office I don't want anything I just this is outrageous and if I was allergic to nuts and they had confirmed that they didn't have any nuts in it and went And ate it I could've died.

    What to do? Fuming

Mcd sell me a big mac with gerkins on and I don't want those either should i sue

You are not talking about nuts and dying so don't dramatise
You have a responsibility to look and seeif there is something on your burger you don't want especially since you suspect it will be there

A piece of bacon is not something to small you might overlook

Mac D are fast a cheap because they don't serve alacarte menu

It's a fix menu and if you don't like it go to somewhere you do like the menu instead of being a nuisancenuisance

You do realise that you have no right to demand some one provides you with what you want

So they have got it wrong twice previously and you didn't think to check? They shouldn't get it wrong, but you have enough experience with them to know that they do and therefore you should take some responsibility yourself if you choose to continue eating there.

How you managed to get through half a burger without realising is also a little strange, it has quite a distinctive taste and I can only assume this is heightened if you don't usually eat it.

What do McDonalds actually serve that has bacon in it? Other than a bacon double cheeseburger, which I assume you didn't order, I can't think of anything?

emmathews - a bacon double cheeseburger is a Burger King product, not McDonalds (and far superior to anything McD's serve, in my opinion!! :p)

God, I'm definitely NOT a Fussy Eater am I? :o

From my experience McD bacon has no discernible taste whatsoever :D
