To above poster I don't think halal means fussy eater. I honestly know nothing about halal but I'm sure its to do with their religion. On the other hand I have never heard of a halal mcds.Need to get rid of my Yankee Candle Habit, Not very money saving of me0

Halal refers to how the animal was slaughtered and the how the meat was subsequently handled. It's perfectly possible for McD's to use halal meat in their products, albeit I doubt they do anywhere (except perhaps in the Middle East).0

It is indeed to do with religion.
I was using the term "fussy" tongue in cheek, referring to not eating something by choice rather than due to medical reasons. That is technically what the definition of fussy is.
I am fussy. I will only eat meat that has been humanely raised and slaughtered. My French ex was rather annoyed that I refused to try foie gras!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
pinkshoes - did you vote UKIP?0

I've been to the one in Seven Kings and I don't remember it being Halal. It could be a franchise though so they might have changed it.Come on you Irons0

Should have gone inside the restaurant to get what you were after, I find the drive through system can make it hard for the staff to not hear you properly when doing your order.0

Halal = fussy eater
Well... while I can't wrap my head round religion and religious customs, most societies have customs regarding what kinds of foods are "acceptable" to eat.
In our society people commonly object to the idea of eating horse or dog meat or grubs or insects. Is that just another example of "fussy eating" in your book?0 -

I think pinkshoes may have meant fussy eater as in choice - rather than a life threatening allergy.
It does have to do with religion but halal means different things to different people (just like any religion, there are differing interpretations of that religion). Some people believe that - excluding those specifically banned like pork - if you say the gods name before eating a food, it is halal. Some people think its only when its said before slaughtering it that its halal. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

You speak as if being a fussy eater is a bad thing.
It just means you're particular about what you put in your mouth/body.
Nothing wrong with that. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
Basically long story short I am A muslim woman I went through the drive-through at McDonald's and ordered a burger without bacon I confirmed this with the lady I then ate half and it had a bacon in it.
I have rarely eat McDonald's I was just in such a rush after work I thought I would order one.. this is the third time at the same store that this has happened the first two times they have offered me a free meal even though it went through head office I don't want anything I just this is outrageous and if I was allergic to nuts and they had confirmed that they didn't have any nuts in it and went And ate it I could've died.
What to do? Fuming
Points:
1. Most burgers DON'T contain bacon, so it is highly suspect that you've chosen one which contains bacon as default (unless it is the big tasty, which comes with or without bacon... though I'm showing my age if new types have since come out). It is somewhere on the "you are causing trouble" and the "legitimate mistake" spectrum.
2. You ate HALF of it, as opposed to some fraction less than 1/2 which would result in noticing bacon (typically one bite, or about 1/8th unless you have a big gob.....)
3. You didn't CHECK a burger before eating it, despite knowing that the burger may contain bacon in some instances.
4. You said "a bacon" when it is actually an uncountable noun, so could there be a possibility that your English was not well understood by young people who probably couldn't care less about most things? (this is a weaker point, although you have also used the incorrect tense when you said "I have rarely eat", although nothing else stands out too much).
5. One thing I concede is if a slice of bacon (see how it is uncountable?) has appeared on something like a big mac, in which case that is pretty unfortunate. Nevertheless, they have bacon as an ingredient and so you can't expect every product to be bacon-free. Free meal is a good gesture there, but I do ultmately refer you to points 2 and 3 of my post.
6. The nut analogy is insanely inaccurate. McDonalds don't use nuts in ingredients (at least in the kitchen), otherwise they'd have signs up to that effect. Allergies are a whole different ballgame to that of religious beliefs.
7. You are in England, of whom most people are not Muslim. Whilst English people are generally respectful of Muslim beliefs, they do not have to bend over backwards to accommodate these. Do you think I could order a crispy bacon burger in a McDonalds based in a muslim country? No, because you have to respect the country you are in.0
