Just bought a bamboo steamer and need some advice. Can I just wash this with soapy water and do I need to do anything to it before use please?

yes, you can wash it with soapy water, but you dont;' want to get it soaked in water as it will expand and then break. When you use it, spray it with oil, or put what you want to steam on plates, greaseproof paper or baking parchment op that the food doesn't stick to the bamboo. If you do that every time, it shouldn't need to be washed at all.0
