Thanks Malmo. Regarding mortgage advisors, is it relevant to use one who is geographically close? eg. a family member had a very good experience with one, but they live in another city. What about these mortgage services that you can ring, eg. London & Country or equiv? All as valid as eachother?0

Recommendation is always a good way to go and doesn't have to be geographically close, as it's all do-able remotely over the phone & email.
L&C are a fee-free broker, but be aware that they are known to do initial AIPs / DIPs without credit searching, based only on the information you provide (such as income, expenditure), so I don't think that will be particularly useful or valuable to you based on your circumstances described above.0 -
