Employer not paying for first 48 hours

    Frankly I feel that they SHOULD pay for any work done/hours worked and putting any conditions on that is terribly unfair. Regardless how long OP has worked there - he DID work those 48 hours so yes, should get paid for it.

    I do agree that it's not fair, and that ideally they should pay. However, they clearly stated their terms at interview - before the OP even agreed to take the job. He agreed to the terms, and he's certainly not done his chances of changing them any good by not turning up for several months.

    Those "terms" should be illegal really - just not right to do that to people.

    So it wasn't financially viable for you to continue working for them?

    I'm a bit confused as to how you have managed to pay your bills since the day you took time off.

    I would have thought 2 weeks money would have been the least of your worries as it would seem you have not been sending in sick notes, so how did you manage? Obviously you cannot have been signing on for JSA as you were still employed, even though you were not attending work.
