Struggling with DMP payment

Hi I have a Dmp with Stepchange which I have had for just over 2 years. I did a review in February and my payment was reduced slightly as my hours have been reduced at work due to a health issue. My son is moving out soon so this will mean less money coming in can I do another review so soon after doing one?
I am worried my creditors will not be happy with a reduced payment again!
Thank you in advance for any advice.

Hi, yes you can, long as you let the DMP know, they will do the rest for you, I have had to change mine a few times due to unforseen circumstances, if things improve, which I hope they do for you, you can up the payments good luck Tracey0

Hi flumpy,
This is how you should of phrased your post :

My son is moving out soon so this will mean less money coming in, I will have to do another review shortly, my creditors will just have to accept lower payments for a while.
You can only pay what you can afford to pay, your creditors will just have to lump it I'm afraid, to them you are just a name and an account number, personal feelings don't come into it, you have to treat it as a business transaction, not a personal issue.
Don't worry, lots of people think that creditors take issues like this personally, and are worried they won't accept changes, I think as long as they recieve something, all will be fine.
You have to change your attitude to "this is how much I can afford, so that's what they'll get" instead of "I hope they won't mind lower payments".I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Awesome response. My DMP will need to reduce significantly when I move into my own place (hopefully at the end of the year) and I've been worried reduced payments since I set it up. I'm gonna try and adopt this ethos to it now though.0 -
Thanks Sourcrates, yes it makes sense when you put it like that!! I will do my review after work and keep your words in mind.
I have read some of your advice on other peoples posts and you seem very informed so thank you for replying.
Thanks to you too Tracey it's good to know I am not alone 0
