advice needed if possible!!

Hi all, haven't been on for a while! Id like to thank everyone for their invaluable advice, I have had all PPI complaints upheld & am well on my way to being debt free. however, much as I am pleased with the outcomes I am still very angry about how I got into my debt in the first place. I was diagnosed with ms & was unable to work, I told my creditors of my illness but none of them suggested that I could claim on the ppis I had on the cards, loans etc. As I didn't know about the policies I didn't claim on them, am I being cheeky in suggesting they may have a degree of responsibility towards me & the predicament I am in? I feel very frustrated that they could have provided me advice at the time as I know the insurance would have paid out. Any advice will be appreciated thanks Tracey

How did you not know - it would have been detailed on your CC bill every month.

I really didn't know, hence successful PPI refunds! Working, university degree, running a home & being I'll, stupid I know, but I didn't notice, I suspect I am not the only 1 who has got into debt & have never really read all info on a statement!!! So no, I didn't know !!! I do now!!!!

But I didn't sign up to it knowingly! That issue actually had PPI refunded!! I have had over 9000 repaid, my evidence was "I didn't know I had PPI"!!!!!!!!!!! So they paid the compensation because I didn't read the statements?!!!!! I think not! Your terse replies are not helpful, there are many on here that are, you obviously haven't read my thread, I'm asking for advice, not condemnation!!!!

You're not likely to get anything back. Your complaint might have been you didn't know about the policies but since every PPI policy is added with consent, either a signature or verbal agreement over the phone, and is itemised monthly on CC statements [if there is an outstanding balance] your complaint that they should have told you something they assumed you already knew is not likely to succeed.

You complained about the PPI policies [for whatever reason] and received your PPI payments back.

You can't now say you wanted them to pay out instead, because that's the equivalent of asking for the money back twice.

Hi what I haven't added was that RBS have asked me whether I had a policy rejected, as I explained to them I didn't know about the PPI but would have used the insurance had I have known about it, they have confirmed I would have certainly been successful in a claim, they are now looking into it. I have no idea if it will be successful, but they are sending me the information on what exactly the insurance covered & how it would have been paid, I have only just been advised on this, so I am hopeful. RBS sent me the forms & I did not request them, I filled them in & sent them back, they asked the question, not me. RBS have informed me that if the insurance cover is greater than the PPI compensation, the difference will be paid.
