For anyone still wondering what value brokers add, this is an overview of the cases I was working on today.
Client whse business has just merged with another making him effectively 6 months into a new business.
Client with half his income in annual bonus but only 14 months in the job.
Client with default listed on credit file belonging to someone else , refused by the high street.
Client with numerous defaults and missed payments we are reducing his outgoings by 40% of his net income.
Client whose self employed income has quadrupled in three years needs more recent figures considered.
Brokers can make the bread and butter stuff easier, but making the tricky stuff possible is the real benefit.

I'm guessing it's not the rank and file PAYE folk that "enjoy" 1000% increases in pay, suggesting unusual situations demanding the expertise of a broker.

Really depends on what he earned in the first year. A 1000% increase on a quid isn't too exciting.0 -

I have to say, I have always been a little sceptical about what a broker could do for me, but based on my recent experience I can't fault my broker who was recommended by a friend.
I went to him with a half baked idea involving remortgaging our existing house onto a BTL product in order to release the deposit required to put down on a new residential property. In my head it all sounded plausible but I was doubtful that the lenders would see it that way due to some existing debt commitments and poor current account management (living in the overdraft).
Both products suggested by the broker at the illustration stage sailed through DIP and then went to full offer without much hassle at all (Skipton being generally slow was the only issue).
We are due to complete in the next couple of weeks.0
