Opening "childproof" caps

Been given a bottle of tablets. Usually, if I get the, from Boots, they're in blister packs. Prescription went to co op instead and I've been given a bottle with a childproof lid.
Been told to push down and then turn. It doesn't work.
Suggestions please?

Get a child to do it for you?
How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
can you go back and ask them to put them in a bottle with a standard cap? I'm not sure whether it is still the case, but I know they used to be able to do this on request.
Otherwise, see if you can get someone to help you open it the first time then transfer them to a different container. All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0 -

Spoke to chemist, There's a ring on the bottle which they've removed. I can now open the bottle.
