Any chance of getting a camping stove? Only costs a tenner or so and you could make loads of one pot or frying pan meals.Saving for deposit: Finished! :j

I also lost my kitchen for 6 months during renovations. I had a microwave, toaster and kettle. I managed to make casseroles and curries in the microwave. I think I had a few prepared meals in the freezer.Jane 21120

I only ever use a microwave and a toaster .... and I've only bought a SC this year.
There are thousands of ready meals and you've not indicated your budget, but I've only ever had the cheap onesI really like the Mr T 95p Korma Chicken Curry/rice. I'm not one for Korma as a rule (I like proper indians, hot and spicy), but (especially for the price) they're really lovely.
You can microwave oven chips - I use Lidl oven chips and they're cooked (hot) after 3 mins/toss/3 mins .... but they're still fine if you do them for another 3-4 minutes (sometimes I get half way through and think "I should stick a sausage in there" so cook them longer).
If you've a Home Bargains close by (or B&M, or even other cheap shops) keep an eye out for tins of Irish Stew by Goblin, seriously tasty! I like to add dumplings (because I'm a piggy).
Toasted sandwiches are great too. Toast your bread, slice up your cheese and lay it across two slices. Microwave the two slices side by side for about 30-40 seconds. Open the microwave door and flip one piece over onto the other.... then slice and scoff. I also do this with microwaved fish fingers - I stand them on their thin edges and microwave for 1 minute, turn, 1 minute, turn, 1 minute ..... inside toast (with a splash of salad cream) it doesn't matter that they're not crispy.0 -
If you want a few ready meals then I would go for the slimming world ones from Iceland for one reason, they are made with normal ingredients that you would find in any ordinary kitchen. They aren't full of crap and unpronouncable words, just real ingredients.
Even better than that is that they actually have the recipe ingredients and method printed on the packaging so if you like it, you can make it yourself when you get your kitchen back! I think that is pretty cool.
They are £3 each but portions are HUGE (not like normal piddling RMs) so if you wanted, you could split between two of you and add extra veg/bread/whatever you want0
