Skype interview: PC or Android phone?

I have a Skype interview later on in the afternoon. It's for manual work, so it doesn't need to be 100% professional. My ancient laptop has no webcam. I have a very cheap external USB webcam but it's not very good in terms of resolution. I also have a cheap Alcatel Pop D1 which probably has a better cam. The connection trough the laptop seems more robust than through the smartphone.
What would you do? Has anybody ever used a smartphone for a Skype interview?

Do you know anyone with equipment you can borrow? Skype calls on PCs etc are free so you're not asking them for anything costly.
Did you discuss your tech issues with your perspective employer? They may have been able to offer an alternative.
If you are stuck with what you have, go with the most stable method. Then explain briefly at the beginning of the interview that the connection may be a little slow to respond and offer a telephone interview as the alternative.
Good luck.
Edited to add: make sure the background for your chat is tidy and there are no embarrassing posters, objects etc in view. Also, make sure there are no interruptions from housemates, family etc by shutting yourself away and sticking a 'do not disturb' sign on the door.
Everything they see through the camera will influence their opinion so make sure that what's in view looks as clean and tidy as possible.:hello:0 -
I believe sound is more important than the camera. Make sure you explain them you are running on a low level kit. Good luck!ally.0

If you're applying for a manual NWM job, they probably won't expect you to have very expensive computer equipment anyway.

If you go down the phone route then make sure you are on wifi. It will kill your data charges otherwiseIt's taken me years of experience to get this cynical0
