Enhanced DBS check

Basically, I'm asking because I've been accepted into college, they need a DBS check but uni will need an enhanced one for Midwifery.
I'm not sure what to include really. I split up from my ex, who was abusive, about 5.5 years ago, he spent the next 2/3 years trying to make my life hell. He'd heard I'd moved on after a year, and was seeing someone new, so him and a neighbour (not sure if they were distantly related, good friends or both) spread a load of rubbish, pushed notes through my door saying if my cat didn't stop meowing to be back in the house after she'd been out they'd take her to RSPCA, blah blah.
However, one night my daughter woke up (was i the early hours) and went to play with her toys in her room, sent them crashing down and I nearly died off the noise. She got a telling off, I shouted, not going to lie. However the neighbour thought it'd be appropriate to phone childline, which made the police come for a visit. They were happy she was fine, she was happy (well she was scared with 2 big police people there, she ran to me and wouldn't look at them), made the comment that she obviously loves her mum. They asked if anyone might have done it maliciously, so I explained about my ex and neighbour, they told me not to worry. Nothing else would happen and it's not the first time ex's have tried to stick the stirring spoon in. They said any parent would've told their child off, including them and not to worry. Must have been able to tell I was freaked out!
Anyway, nothing more did happen and this was, 4/5 years ago now.

you weren't charged, you weren't cautioned, just having the police investigate a complaint isn't anything to worry about, but if you want to put your mind at rest you can apply for your own record through disclosure scotland (even if not north of the border).Signature removed for peace of mind0

You were not arrested, you were not charged, you were not cautioned. You're worrying about nothing.
Only in exceptional circumstances will the chief inspector of the police force in your area be made aware of a DBS check where they may add their own concerns - your case certainly will not be one of them. You're not a suspected !!!!!, drug smuggler, weapons dealer etc and thus your local police force will not be holding any intelligence on you that could affect a DBS check.
Stop worrying and look forward to your new career
Trust me, i've had a couple of run-ins with the law including an arrest and nothing has ever shown up on my enhanced CRB as they were called back then!0 -
Thanks for that, just had differences of opinion - my mam said to include it 'just incase' it is deemed an allegation and they include it in th extra info part (?) and my dad said not to for your reasons you've given above!
I just don't want anything like this stepping in my path, I've waited years to go ahead with the career change.
Thank you0 -
As suggested above, I'd do a check using disclosure scotland and see what comes back.0

Thanks, I'm not sure how much it is for a certificate from disclosure Scotland?
Anyway, I emailed my local station about it and got forwarded to the relevant department and received this back:
Morning [name],
From the information you have provided the incident is not something that will automatically appear on a certificate, only convictions and certain cautions are automatically disclosed on DBS certificates.
The check would be passed to us for us to consider any information recorded against yourself, and we would decide on disclosure. Based purely on what you have said I would think disclosure would be unlikely if that is the only information recorded against you. However I cannot guarantee this and the decision would be made when we received the actual check.
Hope that helps
So hoping, it'll be ok0 -
Basic Disclosure is £25.
(Last time I had to get one, back in 2007, it was just £10.)0 -
I don't think a basic disclosure includes a lot other than convictions, cautions etc though, does it? It'd be an enhanced on I'll get.0

Even on an enhanced, I can't see that you'd have anything to worry about!Signature removed for peace of mind0
