No idea on pensions, any help?

Hi everyone,I'm basically going for a job interview tomorrow and wanted to know as much as possible before I go.
The job is £7.02 an hour for 16 hrs a week at a tesco and I'm wondering how much I will be able/ expected to put into a pension. After a quick look online it appears as tho I won't be earning enough to put into a pension, is this right?
Basically the job pays £2.32 a week too much for me to continue to claim my carers allowance and if I put say £5 a week into a pension fund I would be allowed to keep it.

Any help would be appreciated
thanks

Until recetnly, Tesco has a final salary scheme that they are replacing with a DC one. If you joined, that is what you would get.

AS to if you will qualify, there could be min hours you'd have to work so you will have to ask them if you do or not.

If you do, it is wise to put in as much as you can to get their max contribution and this may put you back into carers allowance.

If you can't join the pension, look at opening a PP so that you can lower your income to get CA for the other 5 days a week you look after some one.

The above seems to be the latest version - give the contact a ring to explore your situation.

With regard to benefits, contributing to a pension scheme may well mean that your entitlement to benefits increases? See
