Anyone else getting married in Sept 2015?

Hi all, well to start things off my partner and I have been engaged since 2008 and have finally got round to organising the wedding!
We booked our venue and date last week for mid Sept this year.
Seems like so much to hurry up and get sorted, lots of people think it will be a challenge with approx 20 weeks to go but Im sure it will all be fine!
Sorting the invites tomorrow, and going dress shopping in just over a week as can't go sooner due to work.
Will use this thread to keep you updated but anyone else getting married in Sept and wants to join me in my mad panic and countdown?!

Congrats! I'm March 2016 so can't join you as such but it would be lovely to read your updates! I'm hoping to go dress shopping in a couple of months, just aiming to shed a few pounds first0

I'm September this year too
we have also been engaged for ages, around 8 years. I have my wedding dress (slimming down to fit into it, lost 25 pounds so far) which I bought off the internet and love, and I have booked the ceremony and reception venues. We are having a fairly cheap wedding (aiming for less than £2000).
I would say if you are planning to get a photographer, book them ASAP as most are fully booked up by now for the rest of the year!Getting married September 2015 :j0 -
I'm getting married in the Scottish Borders. Just engaged since last September but together 6 years. We're having a small wedding of 18 and only one bridesmaid but it all adds up! It was the photographer, cake and flowers that got us but we've managed to cut back on invites (Vistaprint), rings (Warren Jones and McIntyres), table centrepieces (Matalan). Got a wowcher deal for the photographer and got a cheaper DJ. Hope I don't regret those cut back but it's already costing about 10000 for wedding and honeymoon!0

Hi all
Luckily I have some favours to pull in from family members/friends etc and my parents and in laws are helping us with the costs too.
Yesterday I went to sort invites out. My MIL has a friend who makes invites for all sorts of occasions. We discussed what I want, she is going to sort me out a sample then if needed do some tweaks then once happy make them all for me. So thats good, Im hoping they will be ready within two weeks if not one.
She also has some table centrepieces which are really beautiful and can be customised to the colour our wedding will be. I think we will go with these as it will be less hassle, and they really are nice!
Contacted the recommended DJ for the venue, he is free on our date and will cost £350. I also have a friend in a cover band who I want to find out prices and info from before I decide though.
At a wedding open day a couple of months ago, we found a fantastic photographer. We really like her style so I have contacted her also and she is free on our date too! Only thing is she costs £1495 but thats for a full day (getting ready in the morning, arriving at venue, ceremony, speeches, evening guests etc etc) but this may be something I need to ask the in laws to be if they could help us out as we love her style. Plus she replied to my email within 20 minutes on a Sunday morning so thats a promising sign!
Got to ring the registrar tomorrow and book them as I rang them before booking venue and they said we can't tell you if we are available until you book venue which I thought was a bit strange. Found out that actually they should have put the date/time aside for me until I had booked venue so Im really annoyed they mis informed me. Of course they only work Mon-Fri so that will have to wait until tomorrow morning now but thats the only thing Im worrying about, what if they don't have registrars available?! But Im sure it will all be fine! Once thats booked we then need to go and give notice too.
Been researching rings and bridesmaid dresses online, so hard to find bridesmaid dresses in the colour i want.
So been a fairly busy BH weekend but looking forward to getting more things done next week!Slimming World Member - Started 05/02/150 -

So an update, we booked venue then tried to book registrar as they advised but they actually admitted that was wrong. They didn't have any at the time we wanted on the day we wanted so we had to put our wedding back a week so it is still in Sept but only just! It caused so much stress with everyone but now its all booked and going ahead so the rest is just a bonus i guess!
We have also made appointment to go and give notice too.
Invites have been okayed and they will be ready by the weekend.
My partner will be trying on suits at the weekend, we are hiring them so he is gonna choose what he wants at the weekend then take all the other 5 guys with him so they can get measured too another weekend.Slimming World Member - Started 05/02/150 -
I'm in, we're doing it the second week in September. Venue(s), registrars, food, entertainment, photographer, drink, decor, guests accomodation is all booked. Invitations are out and rsvp'd. I have a dress, tiara, veil, shoes, favours are made and packed away. All the roles have been divvied-out, cakes are sorted.
That's the first time I've written any of that down. Oh my goodness I can't believe how much we've done!
so excited, good luck everyone. I'm off to put my feet up!... and whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should ...0 -
Well done you have definitely done more than we have! Think I need to get a move on. Our invites are even out yet as a family friend making them around their normal job..Nail biting the longer it takes!Slimming World Member - Started 05/02/150
