Crown fell out

My crown has just fallen out with the post attached to it. Can this be re-cemented? Can't seem to feel anything in my gum that the post would slot into. Has anybody had the same experience.
Thanks

I have had this if the crown in intact they can often put it back in hold on to it as that would be significantly cheaper than a new crown0

My crown recently came off and the dentist cemented it back on. He did say that he would only put it back on once more if it comes off again!Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Thanks for your replies, but how do they cement it in? Is there a hole in the gum it goes into?0

It will go back onto the tooth as before, there was not a great deal of my original tooth and it wasn't a problem. However the only person who can really answer is your own dentist so call on Monday/Tuesday.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

There is no tooth left as far as I can tell - just gum0

I have a crown which I describe more as a tooth on a post....
Ive had it about 4 years and periodically it does come out,the latest time being a few weeks ago.
My dentist is able to cement it back in place each time and the process takes a about 5 mins...the last time it was reset it cost me £22 but I figure that this is well worth it as I would rather have something that looks like a tooth rather than a gap.
I would describe mine as having no visible tooth of my own there however I understand the root and tooth that lie beneath the gum is still my natural tooth and the post/peg securing the crown is attached to that piece of tooth....frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

A few years ago I visited the hygenist. At the very end of the treatment when I sat up a crown came off!
I was sent with the crown to another dentist in the prctice who wasn't hopeful but saw my usual dentist the next day. He looked at the crown and remaining stump and said "It's a goner" - even worse that it couldn't be replaced.
I've been wary of hygenists ever since and refuse to see the previous one.0 -

I also had a problem after going to the hygienist caused by the vibration of the equipment used. I would of thought they would read your dental records and avoid any problem areas but obviously not.0
