Regardless of my personal circumstance, I feel that lenders have a responsibility to be upfront.

they were, they said they would lend X amount, and that you are to pay them Y amount per month, for so many months.... you agreed to this, then didn't bother sticking to it, so then set up a payment scheme?? how's that the loan company not 'being upfront'

best thnig to do is pay it off as quick as you can before applying for a mortgage, payday loans are frowned upon by some lenders as it is, let alone not sticking to the agreement and defaulting
Plan: [STRIKE]Finish off paying the remainder of my debts[/STRIKE].
[STRIKE]Save up for that rainy day[/STRIKE].
Start enjoying a stress debt free life.....now enjoying. thanks to all on MSE
  • I have paid off the debt, please read my posts. Yes I have made mistakes in the past, clearly I was a mess with managing my money at the time hence taking out a payday loan in the first place. I'm not here to be judged on past mistakes- apologies we can't all be squeaky clean. I spent many years with my head buried in the sand about my finances and it was largely due to the embarrassment and judgement I feared I would get from others- I would think twice before doing that on the internet to someone you don't know who is simply seeking advice and help.

happy_bunny, it's showing as late payments, but for successive months.

  • It's got one '6' mark, on my Experian it goes 1, 2, 3 in yellow, then 4, 5, 6 in red. I have now paid it so I have been told it will be shown as settled the next time my report is updated.
