No more credit card bills or loan repayments!

Well, its been a long (long, long!!) time coming but after reading this site, chatting with people and getting hints and tips, as well as having my family close to me I have finally paid off my loan and will be paying the last £6.53 to clear the credit card today.
That has saved us a good chunk of money a month and finally managed to get a little pay rise at work as well so thats about £80 extra a month as well.
After so many years of saying 'this is the year' it might well be!
This post isn't to show off or rub peoples noses in it, and I hope it doesn't comes across that way, but hopefully it does show that anything is possible.
One big thing for anyone with credit card debt is try to get on those 0% interest deals. I haven't paid a penny in interest on my credit cards for many years now and its surprising how much difference in makes.
Anyway, I could go on but just a happy post from me and hopefully anyone else going through the repayment nightmare gets to experience the happiness when you see the last payments go out.
Against what we have been doing for many years, we might even take the kids out for a treat this weekend without counting every single penny, now watch it rain
Have a good day everyone and no matter how small that glimmer of light is at the end of that very dark tunnel, aim for it and you will get there!

Lily - fingers crossed that rain stays away, even if we manage to get out for a nice walk and a guilt free, non-penny counting coffee and slice of cake at the end of it
Chasingfreedom - keep going, it may seem miles away but it will get here soon, fingers crossed you hit the end as fast as you can
Andyfromotley - around 18k, looking at that number makes my eyes water even now.I know its not as bad as few people here but its been a huge weight on my shoulders for a long time. Majority was racked up due to being young and stupid and thinking that the money on credit cards would be easy to pay back. At least I have real experience to pass to my kids so they know how to control money etc a lot better than I did! Thanks to advice from people here I am debt free - thank you to you all!
