But I bet it made it a lot easier when you have a spare BMW you can sell.. I'm glad for you that you've seen sense, though, to remove the desire of unecessary luxuries.
not at all, it was on finance, worth £5k, owed £6k on it!Plan: [STRIKE]Finish off paying the remainder of my debts[/STRIKE].
[STRIKE]Save up for that rainy day[/STRIKE].
Start enjoying a stress debt free life.....now enjoying. thanks to all on MSE0 -
Pollygarter-it was tough but also enjoyable. My wife and i found things to do as a family that didn't cost the earth, we used to take the family( 2 kids & a husky) on walks, normally down the river, then to the park, often ending up in the pub for a coke and basket of chips!! apart from the chips, free excercise was thrown in.
Now it's over my wife want to become big savers, i like to enjoy life...but NEVER again will i get into debt!Plan: [STRIKE]Finish off paying the remainder of my debts[/STRIKE].
[STRIKE]Save up for that rainy day[/STRIKE].

Who needs a BMW when you have a Husky? I'd be mushing to work and back every day"You did not pull yourself up by your bootstraps. You were lucky enough to come of age at a time when housing was cheap, welfare was generous, and inflation was high enough to wipe out any debts you acquired. I’m pleased for you, but please stop being so unbearably smug about it."0

Well done.
Now you must harness what you & your family have experienced for your family's financial future.
What are your joint goals and how can finances make this achievable?
Have an open discussion with partner and come up with NEW goal be SMART about it (specific, measurable, achievable realistic and time-bound)
Then use your experiences to make the next step (possibly more positive than clearing debts !!) a possibility.
Good luck your family and you deserve it.Debt is a symptom, solve the problem.0
