Hello all,
Hope you don't mind me joining in today. I've been using the site for a while but am very new to the forums so am having a read around and seeing what's going on.
It's lovely to hear about other people's days and what they have going on. Best wishes to all of you with a little sadness in your lives.
I'll be in work all day today and then on my cycle home will call into our local market to pick up the fruit and veg for the coming week. We to have all of the heavier stuff delivered from a supermarket. I'm thikning of starting a small vegetable patch though. Once I get home it'll be a spring clean of the house before visiting friends who are getting married in a couple of weeks.
Mine and the OH parents are meeting properly tomorrow evening. They've met before but we're actually going out for food tomorrow - wish me luck!
It's quite an overcast day here from what I can see out of my office window.
As I'm new I have (what is probably a very silly) question to ask... what does DD, DS, DH etc mean? I'm guessing daughter, son, husband but what is the D?
Sorry for my naivety!My debt free diary

Hi rdone, you are very welcome, this is always such a friendly and helpful thread, and I think we genuinely care about each other
With regard to "D" I have always supposed it meant dear or dearest

Morning all,
Hello to rdoneYes you are right about the DH being husband, and I have always assumed the D stood for dear?!
Elona - The home sounds like a great idea and wonderful for you all being so close.
Judi - Glad you had a nice break. Sad your DH is such an ar*e...
Cleaned through this morning and just about to change the washing on the line before work again. DS2 has gone off to the University at Greenwich for some event, he didn't really seem to know what it is about!!! So much for intelligence, sometimes I think he lives in bubble!
DS2 and DH off to watch football tonight so I get the TV remote for a whileRoast for dinner.
Happy Thursday all0 -
Afternoon all
Had a lovely morning sorting out stuff to sell and donate, just need to take to shop tomorrow.
Taking a coffee break before meal planning for the next week and doing the shopping list. Jacket pots and salad for tea, might pop a cake in whilst oven on, purely in the reasons of economy and because we like cake!
Hugs to all those that need themCarolbee0 -
Thank you very much... I presumed that but didn't want to use it until I was sure in case I was saying something else.
Hope everyone has a lovely afternoonMy debt free diary

I'd always read it as Darling. Each to their own, I suppose. After all Darned, Damned and at least one expletive will do just as well:T Weight Loss (Start Weight 14st 12lb): 5/24 lbs :T

Another exhausting day and I haven't done a thing apart from Aldi this morning.
I can honestly say that I can't stand doctors or hospitals, I have been in and out of GP's, clinics and hospitals for far too many years, but DH is worried so I will see if I can get an emergency appointment tomorrow, but it is very hard getting an appointment these days.
Elona it is good to hear from you and that you have been able to get some respite care for DH (((hugs)))
Welcome rdone
I have always thought the D prefix as Darling, but as Tash says you can use it in any context :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
DH =Darling Husband
DW= Darling Wife
OH= Other Half
DD =Darling daughter
DS =Darling son
DSis= Darling sis
DBro= Darling Brother
SIL =Sister in Law
MIL= Mother in law
FIL= Father in law
BIL Brother in law
Off to soak my poorly toe

Evening all, a late post from me,
I seem to have lost touch with the comings and going on the thread and don't have the time to read back at the moment. I must find time to read back. I hate missing out your news.
Elona I'm thinking of you and your husband. I must catch up with your news at some point. Hugs for both of you.
My daughter, her partner and Soldier are well on their way to the UK. They sent me a pic just before take off.
They change planes in Dubai and from Dubai I am expecting them to arrive on English soil at mid day. I cant tell you how happy I am to know they are finally on their way. Ive got a week before they will be off again on the next leg of their journey.... Things to do, people to see and all that.... but I'm looking forward to what precious time I have with them.
Had my other Grandson today whilst his Mummy was at work. His Daddy picked him up at 6 and because I'm old and past it, I had a sleep before starting the tea. I didn't sleep well last night and first I heard of this morning was when my daughter was hammering down the door.
A big welcome to Rdone. Good to have you on board.... and as for the D in DD, DH etc... I always took it as Darling though I'm not a fan of abreviations if I'm honest.
