Terribly confused....?!

Hi everyone,

So I had a payday loan with Uncle Buck. Obviously defaulted and it was passed to a debt collection agency (Plandeal collections). The outstanding amount was £146.99 and I had an arrangement set up with Plandeal to pay £10 per month. Last month was fine and paid, then during the month it was passed back to Uncle Buck collection so my payment hasn't officially been set up as of yet. They're happy with this. It was agreed with Uncle Buck that I would pay £100 on the 26th may to close the account.

Anyway, now the payment has been missed, I received an email from UB this morning saying my arrangement has been cancelled and they are now offering a F&F settlement figure of £66.61. Less than I agreed to pay.

Is this normal??

    Hi SM
Did you mean the payment was due 26th April?

Seems odd that they were expecting £100 and are willing to take £66, but hey if you have the money id be tempted to snap their hand off. (that would be another one gone!!)

Just be certain that it is F&F.

Get them to confirm in writing that this will clear the account, and you will not be chased for the remainder.

  • Yes, the £10 for an arrangement was due the 26th but had to set up new payment method due to it going back to UB. The payment of £100 was due 26th May but now they only want the £66.61.

The offer is in an email.....is that "in writing"?
