Etsy/Ebay

Has anyone had a success story with buying a dress from Etsy?

I am totally head over heels for Reem Acra wedding gowns especially the Olivia, I am Beautiful etc, twisted bodice and tulle with beaded cap sleeves. However they average about 6k plus and even used in the uk they still 4k. No way of getting them in sample sale either as only sold in selfridges and browns by the looks of it.

Am being really spoilt and can't pick between satin and lace so having a pronovias satin for the daytime and then wanting a copy or similar style to Reem Acra for night and honeymoon photoshoot.

Can anyone tell me if they know good wedding dress sellers on Etsy? Looking at £300 or below because its a second dress and will probs need altering.

Few dress makers I like are;
misdress
harsuccthing
YoursTailor
AmazingAngel
MermaidBridal
Justbridals
50Timeless

Don't know if anyone heard or used this dressmakers but they all do very similar dresses to Reem Acra Style.

Am devasted that I don't live in the US as renttherunway have a reem acra for $70 rental and its gorgeous. Emailed them and they don't rent to uk.

Was wondering if even a uk dressmaker could make something similar as its just tulle really and beaded cap sleeves. I don't really want to go to dressmakers and waste time if its going to cost more than £300.

  • It might be a good idea to take a picture and speak to a local dressmaker, I have found in the past that they are very reasonable and the you wouldn't need to risk buying from a Chinese seller it may well come to under £300 but if you don't ask you won't know!

    I have bought many dresses from the chinese dress makers, and they are fine for people who do not have a large budget. the dresses i have bought look really nice and are well made, many ask for exact measurements so they dont need altering when they arrive. Less than a £100 for a made to measure dress is fab for someone on a very tight budget
