Why TopCashBack rarely tracks ?

I am using Firefox, clearing all cookies and switching AdBlock off before trying to buy something via TCB. I get confirmation every time on TCB, and often on merchant sites if they support it.
It almost never tracks.
It worked more or less OK before, roughly 20% of transactions were missing, now it is more like 95%. All reliable merchants, like banks, holidays websites etc. with good statistics.
The same story was with Quidco, this is why I switched to TCB several years ago.. I am really fed up with this, I started recording bigger transactions, but for smaller amounts I stopped bothering, it takes more effort to log the request ...
What else can I try before assuming it is TCB/merchants that make it miss ?

I never have a problem, also use Firefox, also have adblock. I always check that the transaction has recorded by going through the complaints procedure up to where you have to select the date of the transaction, so even if I've been on, say, TCB through to the company a couple of times, they are all there.
Same for Quidco. I do clear cookies every night, and ensure that I don't go on to the site ever without going via the cashback site. That's the only thing I can think of for you.
Actually, I've just checked and I had to disable Adblock for these sites. I only use Firefox for my cashback sites, so it wasn't a problem.0 -
I find it often can be a case of retailers not tracking rather than the cashback site not tracking. I used to order from Holland and Barratt and they never ever paid up! They'd track then a few months down the line would say that it didn't track and I'd lose out on the cashback.
I had the same experience with Holland and Barratt on both TCB and Quidco. I tried to write a review about this on Quidco on the Holland and Barratt page but Quidco wouldn't allow it -nothing sweary or shouting just explaining how they never ever paid up and to beware. I got a personalised email back from Quidco apologising for my bad experience but that they were not able to publish my review.
If that's just one experience of Holland and Barratt not paying up and cannot be reported on, who knows how many other retailers there are who act in a similar way. I don't like to draw conclusions from such ominous details but I do find it odd that some retailers you can report negatively from and another you can't...0 -
