AAT Level 3 in Accounting Distance Learning

Hi

I am studying AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting at College and have been informed that the College will no longer be delivering Accountancy courses from September as Further Education has been cut :(.

I intended to go on to study AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting from September as I am enjoying the course and looking for a complete change in career.

I don't know what to feel at the moment, not sure which way to turn. I am studying Accountancy as I am looking to change career and really enjoy it and feel as if I have maybe wasted a year doing the course :( as local Colleges are not running the course. I am not sure if I'll be able to change career if I can't go on to study Level 3. Also, I really benefit from being taught in a class and it looks like my only option is to do distance learning.

Can anyone recommend a good Distance Learning provider as I have had a look at a few and feel swamped by choice and they appear to be very expensive.

Are there no other colleges or learning centres near you that offer tuition? Some places do week long intensive courses that you can do while on annual leave from your work. Some do live online classrooms where you can asks questions and discuss issues like at a classroom taught course, and get your work marked. Some do pre-recorded online lessons that you can view anytime, and some do distance learning.

Try places that teach CIMA/ACCA like BPP, Kaplan, First Intuition, etc.

I'm currently doing the AAT level 3 with BPP, online live classroom where there is a tutor on webcam going through course notes. As its live we can ask questions and anything we get stuck on they will explain. I find it very effective and I also did level 2 the same way and passed it. You can also contact the tutor by email with any questions at any time. Also the AAT website is a lot of help with question practice and elearning.

Depending on your age you can get funding which is the 24+ loan which you won't have to pay back until you are earning over £21,000 a year & even better when you do earn this its paid before tax through your wages.

    Hope this helps!
