Tesco 16" inners 75p but will they fit 1.75 tyre?

The local Tesco Extra had loads of these (at aisle end near cycling section). I got some but when I got them home realized that my tyres are 16x1.75 and these are 16x1.95/2.125. So, will they fit?

I would think it would be fine. I'd be more worried about buying one that was much too small for the tyre and was then under too much stress trying to fill the large tyre.

I believe the general rule is that in an emergency you can fit a larger/wider tube (within limits) but never a smaller one. That is the advice I had for motorcycle touring, where the two wheels often are different sizes - you always take the larger size of the two, so you can repair either on the road. However, the tube won't be evenly distributed round the casing if there is too much material, so personally I would get the proper size and keep these as perfectly reasonable emergency spares.

I fitted it anyway after lack of response and it seems to be OK.

The best analogy I can think of is that your question was a bit like saying 'I've got a massive pair of underpants to wear under my small trousers. Is it a problem?". Well I wouldn't do it, but if you really want to and they don't start showing, well I suppose it's OK.

Without researching the product, I'd be a bit wary of depending on 75p tubes to get me home! If they can sell it for 75p, what did it cost to produce ? I suppose, at that price, you can afford to carry a couple of spares.

So, I should have bought them when Tesco were selling them for £4?
