My husband and I are declaring next week, we have in anticipation of this set up a co operative account. My question is-
- what do we do about our DD and STO that are in our abbey account , should we transfer them over to the co op account before BR?
- should we transfer our child benefits/ tax credits etc into new co op account?

You will STILL need to declare this account to the OR, as you set it up before bankruptcy. However, as it is for your tax credits/child allowance I would foresee no problem with the OR allowing you to keep the account - he/she will/must write to the Co-op, explaining your situation, but the Co-op, who hold the ultimate decision as to whether you can keep the account, is most unlikely to object.
Your child benefits and tax credits will be unaffected and, even if your account was disallowed, the Or would assist you in making provision to use this money.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Hi! we did same thing opend ac prior to BR.But we also changed all dd & so that we would be paying after BR rent, council tax electric, gas, phone ect and had all payments sent to that account child tax credit, child allowance both wages. We declared the account just as rog said OR and coop had no difficulty with it.
Hope all goes well. Some of the best lessons we ever learn,we learn from our mistakes and failures.the error of the past is the success and wisdom of the future. :j0
