Cant cross off comps why ?

Can anyone help me please, using old version it will not let me cross comps off if i open the competition page,
Gone onto new version and it will not even let me cross off at all

I'm using old version of website, no problems with Safari, 'though you have to Refresh to see tick appear on main screen.0
