Isn't this debt statute barred after 6 years?
I know that it should be unless you have been in contact and dealt wwith them, if you had a clear 6 years without accepting or any contact it should be statute barred. Not sure what happens if you contact them AFTER 6 years but I think it's barred. That means you owe the debt still but don't have to do anything in practice, and they can't chase you for it.
I'd check on that.
