our local young darlings have now upgraded from knock a door run to hurling eggs at our front door.
we washed the door down last night with hot soapy water, thought we had got it off to wake up today to find we havent.
does anyone have any tips to shift it,when i asked my mum (usually the one in the know on these kingd of things) and here response was "oh that will be a s*d to get off "
not what i wanted to hear.
any ideas would be greatly appreciated
thanks in advance

When I worked at a chip shop, we had egg thrown at the window and we just used neat vinegar and a cloth to get it off (this was after it had dried). Obviously it's probably easier to clean from glass but think that should work on a door as well, although if your door is painted or varnished I'd do a patch test first just to make sure it doesn't take off the paint as well!!0

If the door is painted well or is plastic, have you got a plastic spatula handy ? You can use this to chip some of the dried stuff off, then have a go with the vinegar. One day I might be more organised...........

You could try some strong alcohol (cheap vodka or meths if you have it) - I use methanol at work for destroying protiens, so it might make it easier to scrape off. Either that or some salt (abrasive) and lemon juice (acidic) to shift it might work too.
Test it on the door first as you don't want to damage it, especially if its painted. best of luck cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0
