Contractor mortgage

Options
My fixed rate is due to expire in a couple of months and I shall have to decide whether to choose a customer retention product with my current provider or remortgage (via a broker).

I'm a Ltd company contractor with 3 years accounts and I'm 1 month into a renewed 12 month contract. Currently my LTV is approx. 50% and when I come to change mortgage I'm not looking to borrow more.

My only concern, if I choose to re-mortgage to a different provider, is that I'm in the oil and gas industry.

Do lenders look at what sector you're contracting in??

Comments

  • It depends whether they're assessing you on contract rate or as self-employed via accounts or SA302's.

Speak to a contractor broker, and he/she can let you know your options.
