Replacement Foundation help

I have been using No7 Stay perfect foundation in cool ivory.

I am coming to the end of it very soon. Money is very very tight so I can't afford to replace it at £14.50 a bottle.

So does anyone have any suggestions for a replacement. brand and colour if possible. Around about £5 ish would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Yours

Calley

Not sure any foundation even drug store is as cheap as £5? You are lucky to get an eye shadow for £5.

Do you have a superdrug near you? They have a range called MUA which includes foundations and face kits, and it is pretty cheap. I've not tried the foundations but the eyeshadows and eyeliners are good and last a long time without caking or smudging.

£5 is probably pushing it, perhaps pick something up on ebay? needs to be new/sealed though. i've got loads of MUA or ELF products, for me, only some of the primers/eye shadows & liners are worth it, everything else was pretty poor quality. but we're all different, so worth a try.

i use no.7 stay matte in cool ivory, might be better to keep an eye out for any deals/points discounts etc. i also use my beautiful earth mineral foundation, a little goes a long way but still over your budget.

Could you use a bb cream instead? They tend to be a bit cheaper than foundations which would give you more choice of brands. I think you do get what you pay for when it comes to foundation, unfortunately, so I don't know if you'll get much for under £5. It depends on your skin type though - I've got oily skin and cheap foundations tend to have a greasier consistency which doesn't work for me, if you have dry skin it might be different.

I have been using Collection 2000 Lasting Foundation recently. It's currently on offer in Boots down to £3.99 but usually only £5.99. Good range of colours and really does last all day. Much prefer it now to the likes of Max Factor / No.7 foundations I previously used. I use Cool Beige which would be too dark for an ivory colour, but I know there are at least 2 options lighter than the one I use!:)

If you have a Savers/Bodycare/Semi-Chem near you, have a look for the Rimmel Lasting Perfection foundation as they often have them on offer for a fiver. The one with the red cap offers medium to full coverage, whereas the white cap is a light-medium finish. We have a similar skin tone and I find red-capped 100 Ivory a good match, although my DD prefers 010 Light Porcelain. It's not *as* nice as Estee Lauder Double Wear but the coverage is similar and for a sixth of the price it's not to be sniffed at :)
  • Was in Boots yesterday and everything in the natural collection is £1.99 . I've been using the medium coverage foundation , mixing it with another foundation which is a bit too dark . I find it okay . It's worth a look to see if it'd suit you .

I really think a lot of No.17 (by Boots) make up is a dupe for No.7 and worth looking at- if you don't mind buying things aimed at a 16 year old (or younger (insert scream smiley here)) definitely try them.

Also; wasn't sure but Boots were recently giving out £5 off Boots skincare and £3 off Boots No.7 make up vouchers- not sure when they run out or how long they are giving them out for but if you stock up on 3-4-2 and then use the voucher (not sure if it would work for the £5 even if foundation is for skin) your effectively paying £8.66 per pot/bottle/jar.

Otherwise, try Savers, ebay (look for reputable sellers!) or online stores like FeelUnique, LookFantastic or so on. Some sell make up with a decent reduction, just make sure you colour match in a store so you order the right shade.
