Electoral Roll Woes & Mortgage Application

Hello Everyone,
Long time reader and first time register/poster here.
I'm looking for some advice and perhaps reassurance an upcoming mortgage application I will be making. We've applied had received an agreement in principle (mortgage promise) from Halifax and hope to make a full application shortly if our offer on a property is accepted.
However my partner is not on the electoral roll in Northern Ireland, although he was on the electoral roll in England around 10-11 years ago... There is no annual canvass of voters in Northern Ireland like there is elsewhere in the UK which is why it has been missed.
Obviously we are moving to rectify this asap but unfortunately he will not be on the electoral register until June. We are almost certainly going to need to be making our application prior to this if the offer is accepted.
Can anyone advice exactly how much of an impact this is likely to have, and if anything can be done to mitigate the issue? We are both with Halifax for our bank account (joint) and he has a Credit Card with them. He's been registered with Halifax at the address for almost 8 years as well. Also both our Credit Files are near perfect, no current debt of any kind, no missed/late payments, defaults or any other issues in the past either.
If nothing can really be done about it, how long after he appears on the roll would we need to wait to apply? Is it a case of "once you are on, it's ok" or do you need to be on it 6 months/1 year/ longer before it's useful?

Guess nobody else really has any insight on this
My partner seems to think trying a Mortgage broker is now our best bet so if nobody else has advice that is likely going to be how we proceed.0 -
As far as I know the main reason to be on the electoral register is to improve your credit rating. Depending on how your credit rating is otherwise and how much you want to borrow etc etc this may not be an issue. For more details you could try browsing or posting on the "credit-rating" forum?
As far as joining the electoral role, in N.Ireland at least it is fairly straightforward – I was able to do it over the phone in the past.
Whatever you do a broker is still a valid option – certainly makes life easier.
PS - The other main reason to be on the electoral register in N.Ireland is to keep those right-wing nutters out of power but that’s not a discussion for this forum!0 -

Your best bet would be to contact the Halifax.
Very straightforward to register and you're just a few days too late to get on the register in time to vote this year.
