Receipt of State Pension/Split between couple

Hi,
I've been looking around for details of the state pension and how it is paid to couple, i.e split for tax purposes.
My wife did not work for over 20 years and therefore has not accrued much in terms of NI contributions.
Does anyone have a rough idea what we would receive in terms of a state pension and more importantly how the pension would be split. In retirement my wife will have most of her tax free allowance whereas I will be a higher rate taxpayer so it's beneficial for her to receive something for tax reduction.
Any help appreciated.

You both need to get a pension statement https://secure.thepensionservice.gov.uk/statepensionforecast/
The pension is individual and not paid as a couple. If you have children and she was claiming child benefit she may have accrued credits there. How old are you both.0 -

have you both asked for a pension forecast?
the fact that she didn't work for 20 years doesn't preclude her getting a full state pension depending upon circumstances
you will each receive what is due individually : there is no scope for paying your income to her.0 -
It will soon be possible to transfer part (£1060)of her unused personal tax allowance to you. Assuming HMRC get round to enacting the change.I am not a cat (But my friend is)0
