    Well yes actually, it's your right under the consumer credit act to be able to request a copy of your agreement at any time, as long as there is an outstanding balance.
    If the account is with a DCA, it's there responsibility to pass this request to the original creditor, your account is automatically put on hold, until the request is fulfilled.

    If they ignore your request, unlikely, but happens, you Send a reminder, if still ignored you complain, all the way to the FOS if nessessary.

    If no agreement, then it would be difficult to pursue a debt through the courts, most creditors/ DCA's give up at this point.
