Yes definitely get to see Dr as a voucher would help settle your mind and give you more rest. Hope bank works out ok for you.

Are you friendly with any mums at school at all? Most people would have some tins to give out if asked and knew you were stuck with money delays - don't have to give lots of details but just that you are on your own and with a money holdup. Most would be happy to help I am sure. Its not begging and it would give them a warm glow to know they have helped.

There was a lady in a similar position a while back that everyone was advicing.

One idea, even if you are not religious, is to ask for help form local vicar or minister. They have a network of people and also often the Mother's Union that might be able to rally around.

Good luck with the Drs today. You have been given some great advice here so far. Keep posting so we know how things are going, and if we can support you. It's very easy to say try not to worry, but it sounds like you have done the hardest part by leaving an abusive relationship. Hope the bank sort your money today.

Could you visit your local children's centre/sure start - they may be able to help.

Your child's school may be able to put you in touch with people who can help - one PTFA in Ireland had some assistance packs containing food staples and ideas to use them. was the equivalent of five days food and menus.

    hope you get sorted soon.
