EU income for UK mortgage

Options
Living in the UK, I am employed here but my wife works for a company based abroad (in the EU) and has for more than a decade - are there any lenders who would take her income into account for a joint application?

  • Yes - not over generous but certainly do-able

i just got a mortgage through broker with halifax and i get paid from singapore in us dollars. as per banks guidelines they just exchange it into pounds using online calculator and that is amount they take into consideration. so best do it when exchange rate is in your favour
  • She is paid in Greece, no UK income tax. I'm just wondering which lenders would take this into account - thanks gharrower, I'll get in touch with Halifax as a first step.

I am in similar situation to you and hoping to buy house next year, did your broker/lender mention anything about the rule change on foreign earnings?

Engage a broker as a first step.
