Hi everyone.
I have a closed account with halifax that defaulted in 2010 theres approx £150 on the account,i just wondered if this account is closed by paying the remaining £150 will that improve my credit at all? i am currently back to having "good" credit and wondered if by paying this even though the account is closed will it benefit my credit file at all?..
Thanks everyone.

How can it be closed if there is a balance owing on it ?
An account will not be closed until the balance is repaid, a default is a default, so no, it won't make Any difference.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Are, so you partially settled the debt did you ?
And they have now closed the account.
Let sleeping dogs lie, the account is closed, there is no debt to pay, as there will be no account to allocate the payment to.
Chances are they would return the payment to you, it would do you no good whatsoever.
Plus it will fall off your credit file next year anyway.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
