How can I get Omacor? Can my GP give me prescription? If not how much they cost in the pharmacy without prescription? I want large quantities, 4 pills per day, will he prescribe me that amount? In that case I will only pay £8 for the 4 bottles?

Most GP's will prescribe you what you NEED, not what you want. If the GP thinks you actually require the drug - you will get the drug.
Why don't you go to a doctor instead of wasting yours and everyone's time asking questions you can have answered by a professional?0 -

It is hard enough getting a doctor's appointment as it is, and I would rather the NHS budget went to something other than answering non-medical questions. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

I want to know what to expect when I visit my GP, so that I will be prepared to answer properly and convince him to prescribe my med!0

If you want it you'll have to buy it - or some other fish oil. Not one for the NHS to pay for.0

NICE have said that this is a drug with little evidence base of producing a good patient outcome.
So you might want Omacor on prescription but your GP may not be willing to prescribe it .
You've been given some good info by other posters particularly the BHF link, you should possibly come to terms with the fact that your wanting a medication is not an adequate reason for a GP prescribing it.0 -
but it works for me, I don't take it for prevention, but for therapy0

Oh for goodness sake if you want to know whether your GP will prescribe this go and ask him/her.
We're none of us going to be able to predict that outcome.0
