Nectar points -Sainsburys

Have accumulated quite a few Nectar points but seem to remember reading (somewhere !) that to get Nectar at Sainsburys you have to nominate one particular store in order to be able to collect them and use them at that one only. Can't find anything about this on the Nectar website.
Does anyone know if this is still the case?
PS Double Nectar Points finishes today !

It used to be the case that one had to nominate a 'Home Store' for the redemption of Nectar points. This was then changed so that providing a Nectar card had been swiped (while making a purchase) in any given store at least once in the past year and at least 24 hours has passed between the first 'purchase swipe' and the first 'redemption swipe' then one could use one's card to redeem points at that store.
According to the following from the Sainsbury Website* this may no longer be necessary:
Can I spend my Nectar points in any Sainsbury's store?
Yes. If you've swiped instore recently you'll be able to spend your Nectar points automatically. If you want to spend your Nectar points somewhere you've not swiped before you can still spend your points, just tell a Sainsbury's colleague and they can help out.
*I can't give a direct link but the following route will get there:
Go to Sainsbury's Home Page. Scroll down to 'Explore Sainsbury's' at the bottom of the page and under 'Useful Information' click on 'Nectar'. Then (in a new window) scroll down to and click on 'How do I...?' then scroll down to 'Spending Points' and click on 'Read more FAQs about spending Nectar Points' scroll down a little and the info I quoted will be given.0 -

There is a workaround in place whereby you can spend Nectar points at a store where you aren't registered. However, it is very time consuming and much less hassle to just use your card at the store you want to spend at 24 hours or more beforehand if you aren't already registered there.
The workaround basically envolves having your transaction saved at the point of payment, then going to customer service where they have to phone Nectar CS, then give them all your details to verify your Nectar account so that they can validate the use of Nectar points.0 -
I walked into a Mr S 200 miles from my house and randomly bought some easter eggs. I thought "Finally! Finally I've spent enough to be able to use some Nectar points! Hurrah" so I pressed the button to pay with Nectar points and the screen said "this isn't your Home Store".
Foiled again .... I can accumulate points (at about £2/year) ... but rarely meet the criteria to spend them.0
