Comparison Sites Vs Broker

Hi all,
Sorry if covering old ground.
I have approached a broker and got a AIP however I have seen better deals through sites like this one.
I am a first like buyer with a perfect credit/work history with no complications and want my sale to go as quickly as possible. Any mortgage applications should be straight forward.
So i guess my question is should I go it alone with the benefit of the MSE first time buyers guide or should I go with a broker?

Speaking as a customer rather than a broker, I'd say that using a broker has the following advantages:
- It will probably be faster as many lenders have long wait times to see a mortgage adviser.
- They will be able to give you better and more impartial advice than a lender's mortgage adviser.
- They can push the application through and know how to handle most complications that can crop up, and will be working for you to get the application through. You would have to do this yourself if you go without a broker.
However, it's possible that the cheap deals you've seen are only sold direct, in which case you have no choice but to apply direct.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon

Comparison websites do not take into account personal situations or have the filters available in Trigold or Mortgage Brain.
Whether you wish to go it alone or use a broker is a personal decision, but I would not rely on the information provided by comparison sites to submit an application.0 -
I may as well stick with the broker then I guess, especially as I don't want to be left hanging around.0

What lender has the broker recommended and how much difference are you talking?
Personally, if there was £1,500 total difference you may take a different view on your time and the stress vs a difference of £187
Good luckI am a Mortgage Broker
You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Broker, so you need to take my word for it.This signature is here as I follow MSE's Mortgage Adviser code of conduct. Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as financial advice.0
