  • It is possible that with a decent deposit (which you have) and a decent joint income (which you have) that you might be able to get another mortgage but I would be very, very careful about this. Could you afford to pay two mortgages? Even if you get permission to let in your current home there are likely to be times when it is empty or require work done, etc. - you will need to cover both mortgages if this is the case. I know you are desperate to move but think long and hard about doing it now - it might be better in the long term to wait a couple of years and just overpay while you still can as it is going to be much harder to do that if you own two properties with two mortgages.
    I am insane and have 4 mortgages - total mortgage debt £200k. Target to zero = 10 years! (2030)
