Will we get charged?

Checked our bank account this morning & completely forgot about our mobile phone bills going out as we have not long changed networks. We were £20 over our authorised overdraft so i transferred £50 straight away. Rang them up to ask if we would be charged & they said they wouldn't know until they checked their systems tomorrow. Do you reckon we'll be charged? I will be livid if we are. Thanks in advance.

  • If you've kept your account in good working order and they DO charge you, you'll find most banks will refund the charge if you speak to your local branch manager and point this out. Make sure you tell them you transferred funds as soon as you were aware. My mum did this after going 17p overdrawn for the first time in 27 years....they refunded it immediately and the branch manager was very helpful.

    Hi, I agree with Rain,

You will probally get a charge on the account as its just a computer pumping out the letters. Speak to them and they will hopefully refund.

Phew that was lucky! Rang Halifax up & we were going to get charged! Asked the lady if she could waiver it & she has done, but i think it was only because we have our mortgage with them(heard her muttering that we have a loan & our mortgage with them)! Going to have to be alot more careful in future!!
