This is my SOA I shall be taking to court in two weeks. Icould go now but need to wait till I get paid. Does it look right? It is forTwo Adults and one 11 year old Child. We are expecting a new arrival inSeptember but I haven't put those expenses on yet. I work out I have £120 spareincome a month available to an IPA. As explained on previous threads my wifeowns the house and pays the mortgage. I have explained this in the extra information.

I have taken out my partners credit commitments and put inwhat she would normally put in the pot and worked out the expenses as a totalof household income.

Any input would be great!

  • The only thing that jumps out for me is: Clothing £120 a month???

Good luck though and all the best for the new arrival

Actually £4 short on that. Government guidelines on the Household Expenditure is £124

    Edit

Just noticed that the figures for Household Expenditure are now updated for 2015. I am way off with these figures. Should I just leave them and work with the OR if they mention them. Or change them myself?
  • Sorry that's fine. I thought it meant actual clothes not general household spend. Then £120 is totally sensible.
  • I think the OP does mean £120 on clothes?

The comment about the 'Household Expenditure' refers to the guidelines for bankrupts on expenses across a number of areas, which I think suggest £124 for 2 adults plus a child is reasonable for clothes?

I would have thought £120 for 3 people is fine, isn't it about £50 per month per adult?

If you're spending £600 per person on clothing each year that may well explain why you're in debt?

OP, can you afford to keep a pet that costs you £80 a month? Tough decision, but in your position you need to be realistic.

There is a link to the expenditure guide on the Insolvency Website. I have been advised to base my SOA on those figures. As regard to the pet it is on drugs that cost £60 a month. This won't be forever as it is elderly.

You need to base it on what you spend, not the guideline figures.

If everything matches the figures, your examiner may ask you for receipts to back every total.

£120 a year is my clothing allowance - spend to date in 2015 is nil but I need a pair of shoes and will be a second-hand ebay purchase
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

Mostly this is what we spend anyway. I am not silly enough to match the figures exactly. If anything it's a lot less than the guidelines
