Question about Pedestrians Vs cars?

It certainly is, but it's an interpretation I don't intend to test
"You did not pull yourself up by your bootstraps. You were lucky enough to come of age at a time when housing was cheap, welfare was generous, and inflation was high enough to wipe out any debts you acquired. I’m pleased for you, but please stop being so unbearably smug about it."0 -
The nearest I ever came to running over a pedestrian was when I was turning right out of a very narrow entrance onto a very busy London street, having completed a delivery to the rear of a well-known store. The traffic to my right had stopped for me, and I was edging slowly towards the crown of the road whilst looking for a break in the traffic on my left. Just as I started to accelerate, the top of a pedestrian’s head appeared in my right-side peripheral vision - she had decided to walk out into the middle of the road, keeping as close as possible to the truck, because she thought she should not have to wait. She obviously did not fancy the idea of walking a few extra metres in order to walk behind my trailer. She was very lucky not to die, and, if she had, I daresay I would have been held responsible. It is possible that she was heading towards the very shop where I had just delivered the very item which she was intending to buy. If she had been coming from my left, rather than from my right, then I would almost certainly not have seen hermad mocs - the pavement worrier0
