Transition from contractor to permanent within same company

Hi there,

I've been working towards applying for my first mortgage. Currently I'm a contractor, and my tax, NI etc are sorted via an umbrella company (via PAYE). I'd rather get a mortgage as a permanent employee and am currently reaching out to my contract employer on the feasibility of getting a permanent role.

My concern is - will the switch to permanent at the same company I contract for point blank count me as a new employee? Or are mortgage lenders likely to be happy with confirmation/proof that I've been at the company for 2 years in total?

If and how your situation helps you depends on the Lender you use.

Alternatively, you should be able to obtain lending now.
