condensation in roof space

Meant to post this over the winter but here goes ...
Our roofspace/attic was insulated about a year ago along with the loft door.
Over the winter we noticed that all the stuff up in the loft was wet and that there was condensation coming off the underside of the felt of the roof.
I would imagine this is due to there being not enough air circulation in the loft after the insulation had been done.
Who would you get to look at this and rectify it? Would it be a builder or a roofer?
Any suggestions - live in Newtownabbey area.
Many thanks!

Make sure the insulation isn't stuffed right into the edges where it would block the original ventilation from under the first row of tiles.0

As the roofspace is now insulated it will therefore be a LOT colder and damper during the winter as no heat is getting in from the house below due to said insulation. Keep anything you do put in the attic in plastic containers with lids or vacuum bags where clothes or the likes are concerned.0 -

Shouldn't be damp though or the roof timers will eventually rot.0 -
It needs to be ventilated!0

Agree with 'Ticked' it needs ventilation same happened to me, got vents put in and it sorted it right out... Roofer charged us £200 to fit 4 vents (terraced house).0

If the house was built say within the last 30 years there should be roof space ventilation provided at the eaves and as others have said that ventilation could have been blocked by the insulation. Check such ventilation exists and if it does simply remove the insulation that is blocking it.
If it is an older house and no roof space ventilation has been provided then the solution is to get it installed at the soffit at the eaves of the house. Small circular vents, 38mm to 50mm diameter, spaced along the soffit is an option. They can be got on ebay for a few pence each. Insure that the insulation is not blocking the new vents.0 -

Colder doesn't mean damper. There must still be a temperature differential or there wouldn't be any condensation. Check for cross ventilation as already suggested and if there aren't any existing vents, a roofer/builder/joiner could install them in an hour if they have a drill, hole-saw set and a ladder.0 -
If it's a tiled roof, vents are readily available and cheap, remove one tile, cut the sarking felt, fit the vent in place of the tile.0

Thanks all!
Got it done on Friday - roofing company put 3 vent tiles on the front of the house and 3 on the back. Good time to do it as well in the summer as they aren't busy!
Apparently quite a big problem at the moment with people getting their houses insulated and not thinking about the ventilation aspect (like us!)0
