I was planning to use up a tub of mascarpone at dinner tonight. I opened it yesterday, but have just noticed that it was use by 20/4/15. I'm planning to cook it (stuffed in chicken). Do you think it will be safe for us to eat please?

If it smells OK, and tastes OK, it is probably OK. Trust your senses and intuition!0

Thanks. That's generally the principal I work to. It definitely smells OK, but I'm not too familiar with the taste of mascarpone on its own, so can't use that as a guide!0

I think you'd know if it tasted off. Off dairy products taste like off dairy products
And you're cooking it. I'd say go for it too.0 -
Thanks. Am now about to stuff those chicken breasts!0

Yep, I often get Mascarpone to make cheesecake and then forget about it in the 'fridge. I've used it longer dated than that!0

1. Open it.
2. Sniff it.
3. If you don't pass out, cook it and eat it.
4. If you do pass out, throw it away when you come round. If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?
